SHIRIN HUSAIN

Shirin Husain leads on-the-ground operations for Teach the World Foundation as Director of Operations - South Asia.

She is a published academic professional and has significant experience in developing curriculum for numerous schools.

Equipped with an AMI Montessori Diploma and dual Master in Education degrees from the University of Karachi (Pakistan) and Australian Catholic University (Sydney, Australia). Shirin has thirty years of teaching, training, curriculum development and educational leadership experience.

Shirin is currently also a faculty member at Notre Dame Institute of Education and is executive director at Veritas Learning Circle. Her past career has been with equally prestigious educational institutions such as the Karachi Grammar School, The Clover School, Beaconhouse School System and Foundation Public School.

Shirin led the planning, design, development, launch, and operation of Teach the World’s crucial and highly successful proof-of-concept in Karachi. This involved educating 23 out-of-school children aged 5–7 with an online curriculum delivered on tablets, in a highly interactive/gamified format.
